Spray Tans

Spray tans and techniques have come a long way and are designed to give you a natural looking glow. Your true color will not show for 24 hours post tan. Before you rinse your tan will appear darker. Post rinse you will have an even, natural glow.

Our spray tans are applied by certified and trained technicians to offer you the best results. No more missed spots from spray tan booths.

We offer disposable under garments or if you desire no lines your birthday suit is always welcome. Be advised to come in long, dark loose fitting clothing with slides, no thong sandals. After your appointment is complete we recommend no undergarments to avoid rubbing on the tan while it is developing.

Your tan can last 5-12 days with proper pre and post care. We do recommend products to prolong the duration of your tan.

When your tan is ready to be removed (5 days +) we recommend using our exfoliating mitt, soak in the tub or shower for 5 minutes, then use the mitt with water only. You can add epsom salt to your bath water for a lighter, natural skin exfoliation. Do not scrub your skin as this will cause your tan to become patchy. Instead you can bath more often being sure to moisturize often to combat dryness.

During the first 12 hours after your spray tan, the bronzer may slightly rub off on lighter sheets or clothing. If there is rub off, the solution is natural sugar based and should wash out very easily. Be sure to prepare in advance by wearing dark colored clothing and dark sheets. 

We have lots of clients who get spray tans when they are pregnant or breast feeding. If there is any concern we recommend speaking with your doctor first to make an informed decision together.

Spray tans are meant to fade evenly depending on your pre and post care. The tan settles on the top layer of your skin, therefore as your skin sloughs off your tan is removed with it. Most of the time this process will happen evenly. However if you noticed some spots are darker than other your are welcome to gently scrub those patches off in the shower.

Some reasons a tan would not fade evenly may be due to :

-Not exfoliating goo enough pre tan or used oil based exfoliants, lotions, etc prior to your tan.

-Not an adequate amount of moisture was used pre and post tan.

-Not using tan friendly lotions.

-Not using tan friendly body wash or cleanser which stripped the tan.

-Excessive rubbing in areas due to clothing or skin contact.

You can go swimming and in hot tubs after your first shower, though it will fade your tan quicker. Chemicals, long baths, and excessive temperatures will dry out your skin. The more moisturized you keep your skin the longer the tan will last.

Shower times vary depending on the solution chosen. Your artist will advise you when to shower after your appointment. The longer you leave a solution on the darker the tan, but we do not advise to shower past your advised rinse time as this will cause your skin to dry out and in return causing your tan to fade blotchy.

We always recommend booking a trial tan at least 2 weeks prior for your own peace of mind. This way we can perfect your tan and you know what to expect. Spray tans should be booked 2-3 days pre event.

-Massage/ Facials should be booked 2-3 days pre tan.

-Nails should be booked 2-3 days pre spray tan or 1 day minimum post tan.

-Hair should be booked 1-3 days pre spray tan or a few days post tan.

-Lash Extensions 24 hours pre spray tan.

-Waxing/ Shaving and washing of hair should be done 1-2 days pre spray tan or a few days post tan keeping in mind waxing and shaving is a form of exfoliation and likely will remove some if not all of the tan in that area.

Clients who often sweat a lot in their sleep should book a spray tan earlier in the day to ensure you are not sweating your tan off during the developing stage.

Of course, though keep in mind spray tans do not block UV damage and sunscreen is always recommended. We suggest sunscreens that are natural and organic which minimum alcohol content. Choose a sunscreen that is a physical sunscreen vs a chemical sunscreen. 

You can put makeup on directly after your tan; however we do suggest avoiding makeup application if possible! Keep in mind that you will want to avoid washing your face while the tan is developing. Also keep in mind your skin will get darker throughout the day. Keep in mind the face usually fades faster in general and we do sell products to help extend the life of your tan.

You may notice slight imprecations after your tan. Imperfections can vary from tan to tan. When we tan you, the bronzer solution may shift, move, rub off in area or collect in areas. During the first 12 hours, slight imperfections may be noticeable (especially on fair skin). After showering these imperfections should rinse away. If you notice imperfections the next day, rest assured showering again will blend these imperfections.

NO, when your skin is burnt it will peel. We never know when the skin will stop peeling and getting a spray tan during the peeling process will make the appearance of the peeling worse. DHA can accelerate lifting of skin in burned areas, making it look worse than what it was to begin with.

There is no age restriction, as long as you are old enough and mature enough to follow pre and post care instructions. For clients under the age of 16 we do require a parent to sign a consent form.

Bar soap, products with Sodium Laurel Sulfate (body wash is a big culprit), mineral oil, and petroleum based products all contribute to your tan fading more quickly. Products with a non organic alcohol, fragrance ad any skin care products with Benzoyl Peroxide, AHAs, Glycolic or Salicylic Acid, Resin-A and Retinol will fade your tan more quickly. Keep in mind clients who receive professional skin treatments or peels may be susceptible to unevenness on the face when receiving a spray tan days or weeks after their skin treatment because of skin cell turnover. 

Sensitivities or reactions are rare. However we can offer patch tests if this is a concern for you. 

Vitiligo is a disease in which the pigments cells of the skin, melanocytes, are destroyed in certain areas. Symptoms and signs of vitiligo include loss of color in the form of depigmentation, or white patches in any location on the body. Some experience better results than others. This depends on the severity of the vitiligo and expectations of the client. Many have seen great results in covering and evening out the skin and the only way to find out if it will work for you is to come try it! 

As with any new product introduced on the skin, there is always a possibility that your skin condition could worsen/ get better/ or stay the same. We can not tell you for sure what will happen. We do notice clients tend to find their skin conditions improve with the use of our hydrating products. Our spray tan solution is designed to sooth and not irritate. 

If you have dry areas from Eczema/ Psoriasis/ or Keratosis Polaris, you might find that the dry areas get darker or fade quicker. Do not pick the color.
