The main benefit of using a sensory deprivation tank is to ease mental anxiety and muscle tension. Due to how buoyant the Epsom salt and water solution is, you can fully relax all of your muscles when floating. This is similar to experiencing zero gravity.

At the most basic level, a blindfold or earplugs are a form of sensory deprivation. In a float tank, sight and sounds are removed. The air and water are also heated to skin temperature so it becomes impossible to know where your skin ends and the water begins. And, of course, you are floating. Most importantly it is your time to relax.

Yes, dozing off in a float tank is possible. Some reach a state of hypnagogia, or otherwise put, the space in between wakeful alertness and sleep.

 You can wear a bathing suit during your float, but it isn't necessary. In fact, we recommend not wearing anything at all. This is because the less sensation you have against your skin, the better.

 Feeling tired after a flotation therapy session is not unusual, and in many cases, it's a sign that the therapy has done its job. You've experienced deep relaxation, stress reduction, and a meditative-like state, all of which can contribute to a sense of post-float fatigue.

Unfortunately not due to hygiene reasons. We recommend waiting until you're in an alternate phase of your cycle before coming in to experience float therapy.

Floating as a couple is the perfect way to connect more deeply with your partner, completely free from outside distractions. It can also be a great way to help someone that feels anxiety about the idea of floating ease into the experience.
